Busways

Each county will have 4 busways (East, North, South, and West). All of the busways go to the county’s capital city with bus lanes entering the city’s center. This allows vehicles to still drive in the city’s center while allowing buses to have a direct path. Through the city’s center will have the bus lanes run and connect to the busways. This means a bus can start at the eastern end of the East Busways, and use the city’s center bus lanes to connect to another busway without too much of issues.

Busways will have bus sheltered stops in every connecting neighborhood within the city. This will allow the bus network to provide an efficient means of connecting everyone along the busway without too much trouble. All shelters will have eInk displays that would show the approximate time a route is due. There will also be vending machines that would offer water for a reasonable cost as well as some healthier snacks. This is intended to provide a nutritious means of satisfying the hunger of a patron, but there will be a policy to not have open food or drinks on the bus. This means the patron should eat the snack before boarding, or wait until they exit the bus.

Busway Stations will also have a system to allow for adding fare to the KTA pocket of the ID card. A pocket is a separate digital space on the card to allow funds exclusively for a particular purpose. In example, the KTA pocket is for bus fare, and passes. In any other instance when a separate pocket is needed, the two pockets don’t intermingle. In other words, the digital pocket for the KTA services will only be used for KTA services. This will allow a social welfare program to provide discounted or free transit fare without giving the patron money to add to their bank account.
