KTA is responsible for all of the railways in Kaldus. This will also include freight train lines. Every regional capital city will have a train depot to where passengers can take a train to another county. This will allow for easier transit without having a demand for a train route in every county when the demand is not there. However, depending on where the passenger has to go to, they may have to take multiple train routes. All passenger trains will connect to a regional capital.
Since KTA owns the train lines, passenger trains get priority when it comes to operation. This will be designed to reduce the wait time a passenger line may have to wait to continue on. In many cases, a passenger train will run during the day for shorter commutes. Longer commutes, then the train may run into the night. It would be advisable that freight trains operate at night when the tracks aren’t as congested.
As for the length of trains, a train can not be so long that it will take more than 5 minutes for a train to cross over a roadway. This is intended to provide a reasonable wait time for emergency vehicles. If an emergency vehicle has to wait 20 minutes because the freight train is too long, this is a safety issue. This might mean slightly higher prices, but the goal is safety first.
